Jen Lobo was born in 1980 along the shores of South Bay, CA. Even as a young child, she had a great affinity for all things feathered, furry, avian and aquatic. She adores natural history and entomology. Jen could pretty much be locked in any museum for days and not look for a way out.
Jen currently lives in Pasadena, CA, where she watches hummingbirds and swallowtail butterflies from her studio windows. She lives with her husband, their two incredibly cute kids, and their insane little dog, Scraps. She has also recently adopted a one winged barn owl, that she has yet to name.
Jen Lobo received her BFA in Illustration from Otis College of Art and Design in 2006. She credits her instructor Bob Dob as being instrumental to her painting education. Since graduation, she has been showing in several galleries in and around Los Angeles and working on a children's book. Although new to the illustration scene, she hopes to keep doing what she loves and never have a job that requires she wear pantyhose.
